A Word From OKC HQ:

Just a few more days everyone! Please read and forward on to your teammates…

1. Please make sure everyone has signed their waivers who will be playing Thursday. Go to http://okc2008.eventbrite.com and the password is "kickball" (without the quotes).

2. We, coordinators, want to get our Debbie Downer Moment out of the way so that we don't have to do it at the field…Its every individuals responsibility to follow the Oregon Kickball Club rules and put into action a mature use of the fields we have been granted access to. When we ask you not to bring alcohol to Kellogg, to not leave garbage and to leave the fields in a better condition than we found them its not because we're "the man" or we're "just harshing your mellow" its because how we're viewed by the city is how we're treated by the city. If we act mature and follow the rules we get to keep our contracts and are remembered as a responsible club who can be trusted and who the city actively wants as a customer. If we act immature and don't follow the rules we get a bad reputation and the city will pass us over for other clubs and eventually will be 86'd from certain fields. OKC is pretty awesome and everyone wishes to keep it that way. There are a ton of other organizations ready to take our place should we stumble. So help yourself, help your teammates and most of all help your club by treating the grounds as if they were a gift....cause they are.

so please:

no public urination on the fields

no alcohol on fields that we say no alcohol on (Kellogg!)

dispose of your cigarette butts in a receptacle

pick up your trash when you leave

If any of these infractions are noticed, you will be asked to immediately rectify the situation and/or leave the grounds for the remainder of the game day.

3. For further information on Kellogg, please check in with our 2008 Season Vital Info post found here that includes a field layout and downloadable .pdf of school ground rules.

4. The ref schedule should be out shortly. If your team has not submitted it's two volunteers (minimum) yet, please do so ASAP. refs@oregonkickball.com

5. Please visit our sponsor bar 'Bucket Brigade' after the game (and/or before, we don't judge) 8012 SE Powell Blvd. Just like 2007, $5 pitchers of domestic beers, happy hour food and drink offerings (at happy hour price throughout evening), and $1 discount on the burger/chips.

Thanks Everyone and see you Thursday!

-the OKC (and Barb)
